My Running Journal: 9.5 Flippin’ Km!!

As is obvious from the post title, I am feeling rather pleased with myself. Especially after the annoying defeat at last week’s relay, when I got overtaken by a man with a lot more wrinkles and grey hair than me, yet less in centimeters in terms of height. Arggh!! But this is for another post, so let’s get back to today’s milestone.

So that was it, today’s achievement — 6 miles in 61 minutes and 33 seconds. Granted it was an easy run on the treadmill, but it’s still an improvement from my previous 4 miles.

20141220-195514.jpgLast Sunday I tried sprinting a little during the relay and since then I couldn’t help but feel like my thighs have gone bulkier. So I have decided to focus on running for endurance without working my muscles too much. No more sprinting because I do not want to end up looking like the Incredible Hulk on the lower half of my body.

On my next training session, I will aim to run another 6 miles on an outdoor track or trail.
