2nd of December 2014, TuesdayOkay, that was exaggerated, but this evening my training ground was a real running track! My colleagues and I are taking part in a relay in two weeks’ time, so this evening we decided we had to train some. So after work we headed to a nearby university that had a top-notch sports complex — Olympic-sized pool, squash and tennis courts, what have you. And of course the running track.
Tonight’s achievement? It’s yet another progress since I at least ran further than the usual 3 km. I covered 2.7 miles (4.34 km) in 33 minutes. Again, I did not bring water along, so this is something I must look into the next round if I want to run further and build more endurance.
New York City, I am gearing up for you!
This is an entry into the running journal I have created to chronicle my experiences as I train and prepare to run the TCS New York City Marathon 2015 and fund raise for Team for Kids, an international running group that is committed to supporting health and fitness programs for underprivileged children in the US and Africa. Read my introduction entry where I share how this journey started, and if you would like to donate to the cause, simply go to my secure fundraising page here!
