This morning at 8.30 am I ran 3 kilometers on the treadmill using the walk-run method. I walked for 9 seconds and ran for 30 seconds and repeated the sequence till I reached 3 kilometers.
The original plan was to run 5 kilometers but I realized I didn’t have a proper means of hydration so I decided not to risk it.
Eventually I would be running outdoors more often as I learn along the way about hydration, pacing, time keeping, and injury prevention.
It’s a lovely morning. Carpe diem! Time for a hearty breakfast!
This is an entry into the running journal I have created to chronicle my experiences as I train and prepare to run the TCS New York City Marathon 2015 and fund raise for Team for Kids, an international running group that is committed to supporting health and fitness programs for underprivileged children in the US and Africa.
