One-Liner Wednesday – Something I’ve Always Remembered

Here’s a one liner that’s been permanently engraved in my mind the moment it was uttered by a senior journalist I met when I first started working:

“Write to express, not to impress.”

This is part of Linda G. Hill’s One-Liner Wednesday:

  1. Absolutely. You write to impress and most people use words they don’t understand but want to use them anyway. You write to express, the language stays simpler but means more.
